James Crowley
Executive Director
Jim received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from Brown University. He has served in positions in the US Air Force, including Assistant Chief Scientist at the Air Force Systems Command. He was a program manager for applied and computational mathematics at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and served as the directorate head for Mathematics and Information Sciences at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. He was also a tenured associate professor at the US Air Force Academy.

Susan Palantino
Director Finance & Administration
Susan is a Certified Public Accountant who received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University. She began her career as a senior auditor at the firm of Main Hurdman.  From there she went to the Academy of Natural Sciences, first as Controller and then as Vice President of Finance and Administration.  In 1999 she became SIAM’s Director of Finance and Administration.  Susan is responsible for customer service, facility management, personnel and legal matters.  She provides general oversight of all budgetary and financial matters of the Society. 

William Kolata
Technical Director
Bill has a PhD in mathematics from the University of Maryland. Before becoming SIAM's Technical Director, he was a faculty member in mathematics at The American University in Washington DC, a systems engineer and manager at Stanford Telecommunications (now part of ITT) and a Member of the Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ. He is a consultant to SIAM staff on issues in applied mathematics and computation, develops SIAM funding proposals, and manages special funded projects.
