SIAM sponsors student chapters on numerous campuses around the world. SIAM encourages chapters to engage in activities to promote the applied mathematical and computational sciences and provides funding to help support these activities. The following gives a small sample of recent and upcoming activities at SIAM chapters.

Auburn University will host the Third Auburn University Chapter of SIAM Student Paper Competition in March 2006. http://www.auburn.edu/student_info/siam/
Clemson University plans a field trip to Michelin Americas Research Center, Milliken Textiles Research Center, or the BMW automotive manufacturing plant.
University of Maryland at College Park sponsors Spotlight on Graduate Research. This gives graduate students an opportunity to practice presenting material to a general mathematical audience. http://www.math.umd.edu/research/spotlight/
