A major goal of the meeting is to encourage applied mathematicians, engineers, computational scientists, numerical analysts, and statistical scientists to identify new synergistic opportunities for working together and strengthening collaborations. The meeting themes and speakers are chosen to highlight a class of applied mathematical problems.
The plenary speakers are encouraged to give presentations that can be followed by all attendees and to identify new opportunities for multidisciplinary research.
There will be professional development minisymposia on the current trends for funding research; advice on finding employment in universities, industry, or at the national government laboratories; summer employment research opportunities for students; teaching classes in computational science and engineering; and publishing scientific articles in research journals or in the popular press.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for groups to sponsor hospitality events where attendees with shared interests can congregate. Interested parties should contact [email protected].
