Ground Transportation

MARTA rail line

Atlanta is internationally recognized for having one of the best rapid transit systems in the world. When in Atlanta take MARTA! Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority is a reliable, hassle-free, easy-to-ride transit system. Perhaps best known for its efficient air-to-rail connection, the MARTA Airport Station is located inside the Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport next to the baggage claim. Just follow the signs "To Ground Transportation" and take any Northbound train to the Peachtree Center Station. Follow the signs to the street - go up a very large escalator, then turn immediately and get on the next up escalator to the street. Turn left on Peachtree Street and at the 'Hard Rock Cafe' turn left again onto International Boulevard and walk about two blocks to the Spirit of Atlanta Hotel. The hotel is located on the corner of International Boulevard and Courtland Street. SIAM has arranged for discounted rail passes. UpdatedIndividual passes cannot be purchased from SIAM. We are only offering "special" weekly passes (see registration form). You can purchase the discounted passes in advance, mark what you want on the registration form and we'll mail your discounted pass before the meeting, or if you miss the preregistration date, April 19, 1999, you can purchase them at the airport. Just tell them you are attending the SIAM meetings in Atlanta. This is the system you can use all week to get around Atlanta if your destination is not within walking distance.
