Teaching Linear Algebra

The Williamsburg Workshop on the Undergraduate Linear Algebra Curriculum took place in 1990, and the Recommendations of the Linear Algebra Curriculum Study Group, produced at the Workshop, have been widely discussed and disseminated. This Minisymposium will feature various aspects of curricular reform in elementary linear algebra proposed in the Recommendations: how computing can be usefully incorporated into the course, bringing with it small group work, writing and realistic applications; research into the teaching and learning of mathematics; and the development of new subject matter approaches and their incorporation into source materials embodying the Recommendations.
