Multithreading: Impact and Applications

10:30 AM-12:30 PM
Monticello

This minisymposium is an unique opportunity for a broad reflection, dissemination, and critique of multithreaded computing concepts, and a discussion of recent in-depth studies of multithreaded architectures. The speakers will describe advances in programming paradigms for multithreaded systems, program execution and architecture models, new technology trends and their impact on multithreaded computing, and novel efforts to reducing programming complexity. They will present their experiences with evolving multithreaded systems, and report performance studies using these systems. The speakers will also cover performance and programming benefits of a typical but difficult class of applications in computational science and engineering using these multithreaded systems.
