Computational Science Education and Research

Computational science has emerged as a new program in recent years. As much of an interdisciplinary field as computational science is, it is also a discipline of its own, with the study of common computational tools at its core. The number of programs in this field has grown dramatically. Although most of these are at the doctoral level, a handful of successful examples are now reported at the master's and bachelor's level. The lack of an established curriculum is a problem. Learning outcomes and assessment techniques need to be clearly stated. We present our experience in curriculum development as well as in learning outcomes and assessment techniques.
