The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek offers a central downtown location scenic mountain views, and is conveniently located to the Cherry Creek Mall, Temple Square and other popular local area events and attractions.

Your support in staying at Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek helps keep the conference costs down, which directly affects your registration fees. SIAM guarantees the hotel that we will fill a certain number of “room nights” (rooms per night) during the conference. SIAM incurs penalties if too many attendees opt to stay in other hotels in the area or neglect to indicate to the hotel that they are with the SIAM conference. At this time, conference costs do not include meeting room rental. If SIAM fails to fill the contracted room block, SIAM is then charged the cost for the meeting rooms on a daily basis, along with a hefty penalty. Future registration fees could increase to cover these additional risks.

Reservations

SIAM is holding a block of rooms at Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek . These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at the following discounted rates. Please be aware the room block fills quickly, so we suggest you make your hotel and travel plans early.

The group rate is guaranteed until the cutoff date unless the block fills prior to that.  If there are rooms available after the cutoff date, they will be available at the best rate offered at that time.

Reservation Deadline – February 18, 2015 (or until the room block is filled)

Single/Double       $179.00 per night plus 12.6% tax
Student rate         $134.00 per night plus 12.6% tax SOLD OUT

Student ID must be presented upon check-in. SIAM is able to negotiate only a limited number of special student rate rooms. Please book early as these rooms sell out quickly!

Room rates include complimentary Internet access.
All rooms based on availability.
All rates are subject to state and local occupancy taxes.

In the event that you find a lower room rate, please make the reservation at the lower rate and notify SIAM immediately ([email protected]). By doing this you will receive the lower rate and be counted towards the SIAM room block. However, please be aware by booking outside the SIAM room block at a lower rate, you may not receive the same benefits as rooms reserved in the SIAM room block (i.e complimentary Internet access).

Reservations are not confirmed until acknowledged in writing by the hotel or verified by phone.  Be sure to get a confirmation number from the hotel and be prepared to provide that number to the front desk clerk upon check-in at the hotel.  If hotel reservations are requested by facsimile and written confirmation is not received within two weeks of sending the facsimile, please contact the hotel immediately to verify that the reservation request was received and processed.  Be sure to get a confirmation number.

When making reservations, be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering. Deposit

The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek requires a credit card to confirm and guarantee your reservation. The hotel will send out e-mail confirmations upon request.

 

Cancellations

If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 6:00 PM one day prior to the scheduled arrival date to avoid a cancellation fee. You can contact the hotel at 1-800-228-9290 (USA and Canada) or 1-801-531-0800.  Remember to get a cancellation number!

 

Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM.
