Structural Approach in the Control of Linear Systems

10:30 AM-12:30 PM
Salon B

The structure of any linear time-invariant system can be characterized by lists of integers and polynomials that describe the fundamental behavior of the system. These structural features can be used to draw conclusions on the solvability of several control problems.

The speakers will introduce the main structural concepts and show the strength of the structural approach in the solution of disturbance decoupling via regular control laws, structure assignment through nonregular feedback, and control of implicit systems via proportional and derivative control.
