Hotel Room Sharing Form (link)
SIAM will keep a list of attendees who wish to share a room with another attendee to reduce expenses. If you are interested in finding a roommate and would like to be placed on the rooming list, please forward complete contact information to [email protected] (preferred) or fax it to the SIAM Conference Department at +1-215-386-7999. Be sure to mention that you want to be placed on the SODA list. If information is incomplete, we cannot guarantee that your name will be included. SIAM will provide the listing electronically to all attendees on the list. It is the responsibility of the attendee to make the contacts and arrangements with other attendees on the list.
Student Hotel Rates
A special rate of $99.00 plus applicable taxes has been contracted with the hotel for students. Rooms available for this rate are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis only. All students will be expected to present a valid Student ID upon check-in at the hotel.

Student Travel Awards
IBM Research Sponsors Student Travel Grants
Three Student Travel Grants in the amount of $500 each will be awarded for SODA08.
The IBM travel grants are the only travel grants available for SODA08. SIAM Student Travel Awards are not available for this conference.
Any full-time student in good standing is eligible to receive an award plus complimentary symposium registration. Complimentary registration is applicable for SODA08 only; it is not applicable to either workshop preceding the symposium. Top priority will be given to students presenting papers at the symposium, with second priority to students who are co-authors of papers to be presented at the symposium. An application for an IBM travel award must include:
- A letter from the student describing his/her academic standing and interests, his/her expected graduation date and degree, advisor's name, and, if available, a URL for a working Web page.
- If applicable, the title(s) of the paper(s) to be presented by the student (author or co-author) at the meeting.
- A detailed expense list, in US dollars.
- Other travel funds that are available to the student (optional).
- Statement from the student’s advisor indicating availability of funds, reason(s) the student is deserving of a travel award, and any special circumstances.
Deadlines
Complete applications must be received at the SIAM office no later than December 3, 2007.
Winners will be notified by December 10, 2007. Checks for the awards will be given to the winning students when they arrive at the meeting and check in at the SIAM Registration Desk.
Selection
A SIAM committee along with the SODA chair will select the awardees.
