Hotel Room Sharing Form (link)
SIAM will keep a list of attendees who wish to share a room with another attendee to reduce expenses. If you are interested in finding a roommate and would like to be placed on the rooming list, please forward complete contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org (preferred) or fax it to the SIAM Conference Department at +1-215-386-7999. Be sure to mention that you want to be placed on the SODA09 list. If information is incomplete, we cannot guarantee that your name will be included. SIAM will provide the listing electronically to all attendees on the list. It is the responsibility of the attendee to make the contacts and arrangements with other attendees on the list.

Student Registration Rates
IBM Research has provided a generous contribution of $2000 for Student Travel Grants, allowing us to make four awards of $500 each toward travel to SODA09. There is also a possibility that the NSF will provide additional money for student travel subsidies. Additional information will be posted here as it becomes available.
Any full-time student in good standing is eligible to receive an award plus complimentary symposium registration. Complimentary registration is applicable for SODA09 only; it is not applicable to either workshop preceding the symposium. Top priority will be given to students presenting papers at the symposium, with second priority to students who are co-authors of papers to be presented at the symposium. An application for a travel award must include:
- A letter from the student describing his/her academic standing and interests, his/her expected graduation date and degree, advisor's name, and, if available, a URL for a working Web page.
- If applicable, the title(s) of the paper(s) to be presented by the student (author or co-author) at the meeting.
- A detailed list of projected expenses, in US dollars. Note that for NSF awards, the only air travel that can be reimbursed is flights on US airlines.
- Statement from the student's advisor indicating availability of funds, reason(s) the student is deserving of a travel award, and any special circumstances.
Complete applications must be received at the SIAM office no later than December 8, 2008. Winners will be selected by the SODA Steering Committee and will be notified by December 22, 2008. If a winner has already paid for registration, their payment will be refunded. (Note that since the student registration fee increases from $60 to $190 after December 1, it may be wise to register early even though there is a possibility of reimbursement.)
Other expenses, up to the $500 limit, will be reimbursed after the submission of a summary of expenses together with relevant receipts. Details and the needed forms will be available at the conference.
Applications should be sent to the following address:

Applications by e-mail will also be accepted. Send to: email@example.com and use the subject line "SODA09 - IBM Research Student Travel Award."
