Traveling Waves in Lattice Dynamical Systems

10:00 AM-10:50 AM
Koali (Salon 5)
Chair: Peter W. Bates, Brigham Young University, USA

The speaker will discuss recent results in the theory of lattice differential equations. Such equations are continuous-time infinite-dimensional dynamical systems which possess a discrete spatial structure modeled on a lattice. Of interest are traveling wave solutions connecting equilibria which may either be spatially homogeneous or which exhibit regular patterns. Also of interest are the effects of anisotropy of the lattice, as well as imperfections in the lattice.
