Pulse-Coupled Oscillators: Theory and Applications

Interest in the dynamics of pulse-coupled biological oscillator has increased considerably because of the recent discoveries in neurobiology. Some goals for research include generalizing existing models, identifying the effect of topology and pulse-shape function on synchronization, studying the bifurcations of the firing map, and applying theory to different areas of engineering. The speakers in this minisymposium will address these issues with a special focus on synchronization and application to pattern recognition.
