Delay Differential Equations

10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Orchard & Pikake (Salon 7 & 8)

Delays are omnipresent in dynamical systems, for example, in synaptic coupling of neural networks, in signal process of electronic circuits, and in feedback control of biological systems. Incorporating delays in the models helps to explain some complicated patterns observed in laboratory experiments and field observations. Introduction of delays also generates an infinitely dimensional dynamical system and thus leads to the great challenge in the study of the dynamical behaviors. The speakers in this minisymposium will address issues of current interest such as the fine structure of attractors, the construction of stable large-amplitude periodic solutions, the interaction of spatial diffusion and time delay, and the comparison of theoretical results with the field data in marine bacteriophage infection with latency.
