Denver /Boulder is a mile above sea level and the mountain summits rise almost 3,000 feet higher. You may experience the affects of altitude. For example, you may notice that your breathing is faster or deeper and you may feel short of breath. Your heart may beat faster and you may have trouble sleeping. These symptoms are usually temporary. To help your body acclimate, it is suggested that you drink more water and take it easy for the first day or two. Consult your physician if you have experienced altitude related problems or if symptoms persist.
