For travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US Airways offers a special 12% discount for unrestricted coach fares with seven days advanced reservations and ticketing required and a 7% discount off First or Envoy Class.

Plan ahead and receive a 15% discount by ticketing 60 days or more prior to departure.

These discounts are valid provided all rules and restrictions are met and are applicable for travel from all points on US Airways' route system.

The above discounts are not combinable with other discounts or promotions, and are valid three days before and after the meeting dates. Restrictions may apply on international travel.

Ground Transportation

SuperShuttlePhiladelphia is easy to get around! Commercial shuttle bus service is available through Super Shuttle (215) 551-5833, they have direct telephone line located in the baggage claim area at the Airport. Go to the Ground Transportation desk and they will direct you to the correct phone lines. Shuttle service costs about $7.00 from the Airport to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 18th & Market Streets.

Car Rentals

SIAM has selected National Car Rental® as the official carrier for all of SIAM's Y2K conferences.

To obtain the discount, you (or your professional travel consultant) must call National Car Rental Group and Meeting Reservation Office toll free at 800-227-7368. You must state that you are a SIAM conference attendee and refer to Discount Number 6800228 to receive discounted fares. These rates are not combinable with other discounts or promotions.

Standard age, driver and credit qualifications apply. Minimum rental age at most U.S. locations is 25. National may elect not to rent to any person who does not meet National's safe driver criteria, or who has incurred one or more insurance losses with National. Unless contrary to law, any liability insurance available to the renter or authorized driver will apply to all rentals under this agreement. Train Transportation

AmtrakPhiladelphia is served by Amtrak, which operates rail service along the Northeast Corridor from Boston to Washington and also points west via Pittsburgh and Chicago. SeptaSEPTA's R1 Airport Line offers one of the best airport-downtown links in the country. The commuter train line provides fast, convenient and economical service to and from the five terminals at the Philadelphia International Airport.

The R1 Airport Line one-way fare of $5.00 to Central Philadelphia is a bargain compared to the $20.00 flat rate for a taxi. Travel between the Airport and Central Philadelphia takes about 20 minutes, with trains departing every half hour from 6:00 AM to midnight. Stops within the Central Philadelphia area are at four locations:

University City Station (Convention Ave. at South Street) is located near several universities, hospitals, cultural and athletic centers such as: University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Children's Hospital, VA Medical Center, Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, The Civic Center, Franklin Field and Penn Tower Hotel.

30th Street Station (30th and Market Streets) is located directly in the Amtrak station.

Suburban Station (16th and Market Streets) is located in the heart of the Central Philadelphia business and shopping districts. Hotel located at 18th & Market Street.

Market East Station (10th and Market Streets) is located in the Gallery Shopping Mall with direct entrance to the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel and the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
