Minisymposium Title: Mathematical and Computational Aspects of Nonlocal Models in Materials Science

Minisymposium Description: The special session is focused on the recent developments of nonlocal mathematical models arising in peridynamics, dynamics of complex fluid and porous media. These nonlocal models aim to quantitatively and consistently incorporate the effect of subscale phenomena such as discrete particles, cracks, polymeric molecules and microstructure into the continuum model. The talks will address both the analytical and numerical aspects of these models and their implication in our understanding of the behaviors of these materials.
