POSTER DEADLINE EXTENDED to March 5, 2012 (midnight EST)
Additional contributed presentations in poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the conference themes. Poster presentations involve the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a poster board. The number of poster presentations an individual may submit is unlimited, and is not restricted by the one talk per person policy.

Note: The extended deadline is for poster submissions only. Minisymposium proposals and lecture submissions are NOT being considered.

Those interested in submitting a poster must submit the following information by Monday, March 5, via SIAM’s online submission site (http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=ponw):

How to Participate

SIAM requests that speakers (with the exception of plenary speakers) restrict themselves to only one (1) talk at this conference. The number of poster presentations is unlimited.

You are invited to contribute a presentation for this conference in one of the following formats.

Minisymposia

Minisymposia for NW12 will consist of five 25-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation. Prospective minisymposium organizers are asked to submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 100 words), and a list of speakers and titles of their presentations using the Conference Management System available at:  http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=nw12.

It is suggested that a minisymposium organizer make the first presentation. Each minisymposium speaker should submit a 75-word abstract. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in the conference sessions.

To ensure balance, SIAM prefers that a single individual not be the organizer of more than one minisymposium.  In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers come from the same organization or if all co-authors on the papers being presented in a minisymposium are from the same organization.

Be certain to visit http://www.siam.org/meetings/guidelines/mini_guide.php to review Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals: November 14, 2011
Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts:  December 12, 2011

Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the conference themes. A lecture format involves a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a 4’ x 6’ or 4’ x 8’ poster board. A poster session is two hours long.  Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 75 words.  Please submit contributed presentations in lecture or poster format using the Conference Management System available at: http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=nw12.
