Your support in staying at the Grand Hyatt Seattle helps keep the conference costs down, which directly affects your registration fees. SIAM guarantees the hotel that we will fill a certain number of “room nights” (rooms per night) during the conference. SIAM incurs penalties if too many attendees opt to stay in other hotels in the area or neglect to indicate to the hotel that they are with the SIAM conference. At this time, conference costs do not include meeting room rental. If SIAM fails to fill the contracted room block, SIAM is then charged the cost for the meeting rooms on a daily basis, along with a hefty penalty. Future registration fees could increase to cover these additional risks.
Reservations
SIAM is holding a block of rooms at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at the following discounted rates. Please be aware the room block fills quickly, so we suggest you make your hotel and travel plans early.
The group rate is guaranteed until the cutoff date unless the block fills prior to that. If there are rooms available after the cutoff date, they will be available at the best rate offered at that time.Reservation Deadline – Wednesday, January 27, 2010 (or until the room block is filled)

(Student ID must be presented upon check-in. SIAM is able to negotiate a limited number of special student rate rooms. Please book early as these rooms sell out quickly!)

In the event that you find a lower room rate, please make the reservation at the lower rate and notify SIAM immediately ([email protected]). By doing this you will receive the lower rate and be counted towards the SIAM room block.
Reservations are not confirmed until acknowledged in writing by the hotel or verified by phone. Be sure to get a confirmation number from the hotel and be prepared to provide that number to the front desk clerk upon check-in at the hotel. If hotel reservations are requested by facsimile and written confirmation is not received within two weeks of sending the facsimile, please contact the hotel immediately to verify that the reservation request was received and processed. Be sure to get a confirmation number.
When making reservations, be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM Conference on Parallel Processing for Scientific Computing. Do not make your reservation online through the hotel web site, as this will not allow you to retain the SIAM group rate. The Grand Hyatt Seattle recommends making your reservation by telephone or using the Passkey web link above to guarantee your reception of the SIAM room rate.

Welcome Reception
When making your reservation, remember that the Welcome Reception is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2010. This is an excellent networking opportunity!
Deposit
The Grand Hyatt Seattle requires a credit card to confirm and guarantee your reservation. The hotel will send out e-mail confirmations upon request.
Cancellations
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel 24 hours prior to your arrival date in order to avoid a cancellation fee. You can contact the hotel at (888) 421-1442. Remember to get a cancellation number!
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM.

Hotel guests will have 24 hour complimentary fitness center access.
Internet Access
Conference attendees within the SIAM block will have complimentary internet access in the public areas of the Grand Hyatt Seattle. In addition, hotel guests will have complimentary Internet access in the hotel sleeping rooms. In order to receive this complimentary Internet, upon logging in, the guest must accept Internet charges, which will be removed from the bill upon check-out.
