Preliminary Program |
Ninth SIAM Conference on
Parallel Processing for Scientific Computing
March 22-24, 1999
Adam's Mark San Antonio-Riverwalk Hotel, San
Antonio, Texas
Sponsored by
SIAM Activity Group on Supercomputing
Held jointly for the first time with the
Fifth
SIAM Conference on
Mathematical
and Computational Issues in the Geosciences
This is a visible and important international meeting for parallel scientific computing and parallel numerical algorithms. The conference provides a forum for communication among the applied mathematics and scientific computing communities and researchers in other disciplines, such as computer science and geoscience.
For this ninth conference, we have chosen to emphasize the interaction with application scientists who have large scale computation, data, and storage needs which lead to the use of parallel machines. The conference will be held jointly with the Fifth SIAM Conference on Geosciences, with overlap sessions planned to encourage interaction among participants of both meetings. In addition, some of the invited speakers will be talking about parallel computing opportunities in novel application domains.
