Tourist Information
The social hub of the city is the River Walk,
tree-shaded cobblestone paths bordering the San Antonio River in
downtown. Stretching for more than two miles, River Walk brims with
European-style sidewalk cafes, specialty boutiques, nightclubs, and
high-rise hotels. The river's floating transportation system offers
interesting ways to see the city and its attractions. Rivercenter is
a three-level shopping, dining and entertainment complex. The
attraction that is synonymous with San Antonio is the Alamo, the
mission-fortress that was defended by American patriots in the Texas
struggle for independence from Mexico. The compound contains the
chapel and its famous facade, and a museum/library. For
additional information, visit the San Antonio Convention and
Visitors Bureau Web site at www.sanantoniocvb.com. |
