Call for Nominations
SIAM Activity Group on Dynamical Systems J. D. Crawford Prize
The SIAM Activity Group on Dynamical Systems (SIAG/DS) will present the J. D. Crawford Prize at the SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical Systems (DS13), to be held May 19-23, 2013, at Snowbird, Utah.
The J. D. Crawford Prize is awarded to an individual for recent outstanding work on a topic in nonlinear science, as evidenced by a publication in English in a peer-reviewed journal within the four calendar years preceding the SIAG/DS meeting at which the prize is awarded. The term 'nonlinear science' is used in the spirit of SIAG/DS meetings; specifically it includes dynamical systems theory and its applications as well as experiments and computations/simulations.
Description of the Award
The award will consist of a plaque, a certificate, and a cash award of $750. SIAM will cover travel expenses to attend the conference.
Nominations
Nominations should be sent to crawford_prize@siam.org by October 15, 2012. Attach a letter of nomination, including a description of the contributions, a CV for the candidate, and letters of support from two or three experts.
