Call for Nominations

Ralph E. Kleinman Prize

SIAM will award the Ralph E. Kleinman Prize at the 2013 SIAM Annual Meeting, to be held July 8-12, 2013, in San Diego, California.

The Ralph E. Kleinman Prize is awarded to an individual for outstanding research or other contributions that bridge the gap between mathematics and applications.  Work that uses high-level mathematics and/or invents new mathematical tools to solve applied problems from engineering, science, and technology is particularly appropriate.  The prize may be awarded for a single notable achievement or for a collection of such achievements.

Description of the Award

The award will consist of a hand-calligraphed, framed certificate and a cash award of $5,000. SIAM will reimburse reasonable travel expenses for the recipient to attend the award ceremony.
