Call for Nominations
AWM-SIAM Sonia Kovalevsky Lecture
The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) established the annual Sonia Kovalevsky Lecture to highlight significant contributions of women to applied or computational mathematics. The lecture is normally given at the SIAM Annual Meeting.
The 2013 Sonia Kovalevsky Lecture will be given at the SIAM Annual Meeting (AN13) to be held July 8-12, 2013, in San Diego, California.Eligibility
The lectureship may be awarded to anyone in the scientific or engineering community whose work highlights the achievements of women in applied or computational mathematics.
Description of the Award
The lecturer will receive a certificate containing the citation. The lecturer's expenses to travel to the meeting and deliver the lecture will be reimbursed.
Nominations
Letters of nomination should include an outline of the nominee's contributions to applied or computational mathematics, a list of some of the nominee's most important research papers, and a citation of about 100 words that may be read when introducing the speaker. Nominations will remain active for a total of two years (one year beyond the initial nomination).

The nomination deadline is November 1, 2012. The submission link will be available 45 days prior to the deadline.
Selection Committee
The awardee will be chosen by a selection committee consisting of two members of AWM and two members of SIAM.
