Call for Nominations
W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize
The W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize is awarded for research in, or other contributions to, the broadly defined areas of differential equations and control theory. The prize may be given either for a single notable achievement or for a collection of such achievements. Committee Chair H. T. Banks wishes to stress the breadth of the eligible fields.
SIAM will award the Reid Prize at the 2010 SIAM Annual Meeting (AN10) to be held jointly with the SIAM Conference on the Life Sciences (LS10), July 12-16, 2010, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Description of the Award
The award consists of an engraved medal and a $10,000 cash prize. The prize recipient is requested to present a lecture at the meeting and will be reimbursed for travel expenses to attend the meeting to accept the award and deliver the lecture.
Nominations
A letter of nomination, including a description of achievement(s), should be sent, preferably by e-mail, to the address below. Nominations must be received in the SIAM office by October 15, 2009.
