SIAM Activity Group on Geosciences Career Prize
The SIAM Activity Group on Geosciences (SIAG/GS) will present the SIAG/GS Career Prize at the SIAM Conference on the Mathematical and Computational Issues in the Geosciences (GS15), to be held June 29-July 2, 2015, at Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA.
The SIAG/GS Career Prize will be awarded to an outstanding senior researcher who has made broad and distinguished contributions to the field of geosciences.
The award may be given to any scientist who has held a PhD or equivalent degree for at least fifteen (15) years and can be received only once in a lifetime.
Description of the Award
The award will consist of a plaque and a certificate containing the award citation. The recipient will be invited to present a brief plenary talk at the conference. The recipient will be reimbursed for travel expenses to attend the meeting to accept the award and give the talk.
Nominations should be sent to GS_career_prize@siam.org by December 15, 2014. Attach a letter of nomination, including a description of the contributions, a CV of the candidate, and letters of support from two or three experts (no more than three letters). Letters should be addressed as below.
