The SIAM Activity Group on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures (SIAG/NWCS) will award the Martin Kruskal Lecture at the SIAM Conference on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures (NW14), to be held August 11-14, 2014, at Churchill College, University of Cambridge, UK.
The Martin Kruskal Lecture, established in 2012, is awarded every two years to an individual for a notable body of mathematics and contributions in the field of nonlinear waves and coherent structures.
A candidate's work must be a significant research contribution to the mathematical theory of nonlinear waves and coherent structures, where this research area is interpreted as being in the spirit of the SIAG/NWCS meetings.
Nominations should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by November 30, 2013. Attach (1) a letter of nomination outlining the major achievements of the candidate regarding his/her work in NWCS, (2) a CV of the candidate, (3) letters of support from two or three (but no more than three) experts.
