SIAM AAAS Media Fellow at Milwaukee Journal SentinelJuly 6, 2007
The AAAS runs a media fellow program that places scientists, usually graduate students, in media positions for the summer. The program provides an opportunity for young people to learn how to communicate science to a general audience while providing the media outlets a talented pool of helpers for the summer.
This summer, SIAM supported a media fellow, Brandy Benedict, in this program. Ms. Benedict was placed at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and has written several articles that have appeared in the newspaper, including one titled "Sudoku flexes math muscles."
