Vancouver Chosen as Site for ICIAM 2011June 30, 2005
At its May meeting, the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics chose Vancouver as the site for the 2011 International Congress for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2011).
The Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS), the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), and the Mathematics Institute for Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS) will partner to host ICIAM 2001. This will be the first time that ICIAM has returned to North America since the successful ICIAM held in Washington, DC in 1991.
Previous congresses in applied mathematics were held in Sydney, Australia (2003); Edinburgh, UK (1999); and Hamburg, Germany (1995). The first ICIAM was held in Paris, France.
The next meeting will be the 6th International Congress in Industrial and Applied Mathematics and will be held in Zurich, Switzerland. Invited speakers should be announced soon.
