Yves Nievergelt studied numerical and functional analysis, partial differential equations, and physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned a Ph.D. in several complex variables at the University of Washington in Seattle. He now teaches complex and numerical analysis at Eastern Washington University, and publishes research in numerical analysis and applied mathematics.
