Hotel Reservation Deadline: Thursday, June 7, 2001

Located in Mission Valley, the Town and Country Resort Hotel has been a San Diego landmark for over 40 years. Service, accommodations, amenities�that's what the Town and Country is famous for. You can choose either a ranch-style garden room or a room in one of the two high rise towers. All of the 1,000 guestroom accommodations ensure your comfort. The resort has four swimming pools; "Primos," a spa and fitness facility; five different restaurants and a self-contained conference center to ensure that your commute to the meeting will only take minutes.

SIAM is holding a block of rooms at the Town and Country Resort Hotel. These rooms are being held on a first-come, first-served basis at $125.00 single/double. Rates are subject to prevailing state and local taxes. These rooms will be held for SIAM's use until Thursday, June 7, 2001.

After that date, reservations will depend on availability. Your reservation is not confirmed until acknowledged in writing by the hotel or verified by phone. When making reservations by phone, be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the SIAM Conference.

Please be aware that SIAM's room block fills quickly, so we suggest that you make your hotel and travel plans early. After SIAM's room block fills, reservations at the SIAM price will depend upon availability. Fax (619)-291-3584 or mail the Hotel Reservation Form directly to the Town and Country Hotel. You may also make your reservation by phone (619) 291-7131. Remember to get your confirmation number! Please be certain to mention that you are an attendee of the SIAM Conference being held at the hotel during the week of July 9 - 14, 2001.

When making your reservation remember that the Annual Meeting Welcome Reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 8 immediately following the Short Course(s). The Control Conference Welcome Reception is scheduled for Wednesday, July11.

There is a 10.5% occupancy tax that will be added to your room rate.

DUE TO THE LIMITED NUMBER OF ROOMS AVAILABLE, (20 rooms at $95) YOU MUST BE A STUDENT IN ORDER TO RESERVE THESE ROOMS. You will be required to show your student I.D. before checking into rooms. Rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Town and Country Resort Hotel requires a deposit equivalent to one night's room rate to guarantee your reservation. The resort accepts AMEX, MC, VISA, or check as a form of payment. The resort will send out written confirmations.

If you need to change or cancel your reservation, you must contact the hotel by 3:00 PM Pacific Time, 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to receive a refund of your one night's deposit.

To check in at the Town and Country Resort Hotel, you should report to the Main Lobby of the hotel. Check in time is 3:00 PM and checkout time is 11:00 AM.

There is parking available at The Town and Country Resort Hotel at $8.00 per day for hotel guests and $10.00 per day for local visitors.

A hotel room-sharing list is available for those who wish to share a room with another attendee at the conference to reduce expenses. If you are interested in finding a roommate, please fill-in and submit the Hotel Room-Sharing List Form. SIAM can only give you the name of other interested attendees; it is up to you to make the arrangements.

The weather in San Diego during July varies widely. Average July temperature is in the mid 70� range. Please remember that meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.

Plans are under way to supply an �Internet Café� with E-mail access. Computers will be available for attendees from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 8 through Saturday, July 14.
