Numerical Optimization in Engineering

10:30 AM-12:30 PM
Mt. Vernon

The ultimate aim in engineering often is the optimal design or control strategy of technical systems mathematically described by differential equations. For the numerical solution of these optimization problems one needs a blend of methods from optimization and numerics for differential equation, where structure exploitation is paramount. In this minisymposium, the speakers will present some examples for the successful solution of practical optimization problems.
