SIAM has selected Travel Leaders to assist attendees in making travel arrangements. To book your reservations through Travel Leaders, contact Amy Hueber at 215-643-6585. Be sure to mention you are attending the SIAM Conference on Discrete Mathematics. Travel Leaders will issue your ticket and mail it to you. Travel Leaders’ office hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. Because of their service charge ($20.00), you may wish to purchase your tickets directly.
No matter how you choose to book your flight reservations, please be advised that SIAM has enrolled in the US Airways Corporate Dividends Program. The SIAM US Airways membership number is CDN125335. This program will ensure you receive the best airfare possible at the time of booking.
Shuttle transportation between San Diego International Airport and the Handlery Hotel is available for approximately $8.00. After arriving at the airport, ask the airport personnel to direct you to the "Shuttle for Hire" area. You will be looking for the Mission Valley Cloud 9 Shuttle, which arrives every 10-15 minutes and will take you directly to the hotel. For more information, call 800-9-SHUTTLE. Taxis are also available at the airport.
Amtrak has a rail station in downtown San Diego at 1050 Kettner Blvd. To make train reservations through Amtrak, call 1-800-USA-RAIL or go to www.amtrak.com. You can also contact Travel Leaders for train tickets. Taxis are available at the train station for transportation to the hotel. Local transit service is also available at the train station; for more information on San Diego’s public transit system visit www.sdcommute.com.
Many major car rental companies have offices inside the airport terminal. You can make your arrangements when you arrive at the airport or you can make them through Travel Leaders or your own travel agent. Travel Leaders can make your car rental reservations at the same time you make your flight or train reservations. See information above regarding how to reach Travel Leaders.
For your convenience, the Handlery Hotel and Resort also has an Enterprise Rent-a-Car office on its premises. If interested, call 619-296-7493 for additional information.
If renting a car, please obtain a map and directions from your rental car company. However, here are some suggested routes to reach the Handlery Hotel and Resort.
FROM FREEWAYS 805,163 & 15:
Take 8 West to Hotel Circle North, and turn left at stop sign. Turn right into the Handlery Hotel parking lot.
FROM FREEWAY 5:
(From San Diego International/Lindbergh Field)
Take 8 East to 2nd Hotel Circle North Exit, then turn left at stop sign. Follow the road back under the freeway to the north side and go through two signals and one stop sign. Turn right into the Handlery Hotel parking lot.
FROM DOWNTOWN:
Take 163 North to I-8 West, and follow I-8 West. Use the Hotel Circle exit and veer left at the stop sign.
