Medical Imaging Futures

Medical imaging today is experiencing a diversity of challenges ranging from severe cost constraints, changing clinical role, changing patient population, and significant introduction of disruptive influences of biosciences and molecular imaging.  The importance of more definitive diagnostic capability that minimizes the need for duplicate studies cannot be overstated.  Further, there is a clear need for diagnosis at earlier stages of disease processes.  This talk will review the impact and possible responses to those forces using examples from existing imaging modalities.
