The SIAM Student Paper Prize is awarded annually to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) accepted by SIAM journals within the three years preceding the nomination deadline. Starting with the 2018 award, the focus of the prize is to recognize outstanding scholarship by students in SIAM journals.
The SIAM Student Paper Prize is awarded annually to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) accepted by SIAM journals within the three years preceding the nomination deadline. The award is based solely on the merit and content of the student's contribution to the submitted paper. Up to three awards are made every year.
The candidate must have been a student in good standing at the time the paper was submitted for publication. The candidate may be no longer a student at the nomination deadline, but the paper must have been submitted to the journal while they were a student. At most one author of an eligible paper can be awarded. The candidate can only be considered for a single paper in any year. The paper must have been accepted for publication in a SIAM journal within the three years preceding the nomination deadline. The paper does not need to be published at the time of nomination.
For the 2024 award, the paper must have been accepted for publication between the dates of February 15, 2021 - February 14, 2024.
The nominator, typically the student's adviser or a senior co-author, must submit the following items:
