Funding Guidelines for SIAM Sections

Membership in most sections is free and automatic for any current SIAM member living in the geographical area served by the section. View the guidelines for the sections of SIAM, regarding applications for funding and for the budget approval process. These guidelines aim to be clear and fair, while recognizing that sections vary in size, breadth of geographical area, activity level, and needs.

Information for Section Officers

Section officers are responsible for running their sections with little oversight from SIAM. Officers are responsible for helping to coordinate section meetings, submitting annual reports, and ensuring new officers are elected or determined prior to the end of their term.

SIAM Section Election Practices

These guidelines explain in detail how SIAM section elections should be run. At least two candidates must be nominated for each office and the nomination process must provide the opportunity for all members of the SIAM section holding elections to nominate candidates.

SIAM Section Officer Responsibilities and Job Descriptions

These guidelines explain section officer responsibilities. Each section must have a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. Any SIAM member that is a voting member of the section may be nominated for an officer position.

SIAM Activity Group and Section Brand Guidelines

These guidelines outline how SIAM activity groups and sections, which are part of SIAM and represent the organization as such, should represent themselves on social media and websites. These standards apply to both existing and future online presences and all officers are expected to follow these guidelines.
