SIAM Welcomes Three New Staff Members!
The team here at SIAM has grown over the last few weeks, bringing on board a new member of staff. Get to know Amanda!
Amanda Spadel, Customer Service Representative
Amanda recently graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Writing Arts from Rowan University, May 2018. In her major, she concentrated in New Media & Publishing as well as Creative Writing. Amanda also held a position on the Executive Board of the Rowan University Writing Arts Club as Vice President for two academic years. Amanda and the other Executive Board members pushed the club into becoming a chartered student organization at Rowan. After presenting to petition to a crowd of over 300 Rowan students with her co-Executive Board members, the Rowan Student Government Association accepted the petition, and after one trial year, the RU Writing Arts Club was sanctioned as an official organization on March 6, 2018. Before joining SIAM, Amanda worked as a Customer Service Rep for BumbleeBee Tennis, a company based in NYC that offers tennis lessons to children and adults. When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and cat named Poptart.
Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?
A: One of the reasons why I’m so excited to be working at SIAM is because it’s a publishing company, which is where my interest lies the most! I am extremely interested in hopefully learning about the inside operations of a publishing company, even in my role as a Customer Service Rep. SIAM is exactly where I want to be right now, and I’m so thankful that I’m here! I also really love how tightly knit everyone is around here. I am looking forward to many years to come with SIAM!
Q: Why do you think STEM is important?
A: I think STEM fields are important because they’re definitely hard subjects to master for everyday people. Authors, professors, students, and individuals who understand STEM and who use their knowledge and experience to apply it in areas such as education, life sciences, and geosciences are making our world more modern, more accessible, and more reliable - which in my option is an exceptionally generous mission.
Q: What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
A: I am still attending Rowan University in their Global Learning and Partnerships program. I am working towards my Mater of Arts in Writing as a part time student while I work here.
Please join all of us here at SIAM in welcoming Amanda to the team!
