Alessandro Veneziani is a professor of mathematics and computer science at Emory University. He has been working in the field of computational mechanics with applications to blood flow and cardiac electrophysiology for almost 30 years, bringing state-of-the-art numerical methods to clinical practice. He received the SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize in 2004 and the International Giovanni Sacchi Landriani Prize for numerical analysis of partial differential equations in 2007.
