General Information

  • How to Participate

SIAM requests individuals limit themselves to a single oral presentation, either a minisymposium, presentation or contributed lecture. The Organizing Committee Co-Chairs may make exceptions for invited plenary speakers, and others may be considered on a case-by-case basis. All submissions are subject to review and final approval by the co-chairs.

This conference is scheduled to take place in a fully in-person format. Remote and pre-recorded presentations are not permitted; all presenters are expected to register and attend.

Submit a presentation in one of the formats listed below.

  • Acceptance Notification

Authors will be notified by email in October 2026.

  • Speaker Cancellation

Every presenting author is expected to register and attend the conference.  A “no-show” or cancelled presentation causes a serious inconvenience to attendees and organizers and may be removed from the program materials after the conference.

If it becomes necessary for a speaker to cancel a presentation, they should try to find an alternate presenter immediately, preferably a co-author. See SIAM Policy on Substitute Speakers and Remote Presentations. Contact SIAM immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.

Submission Formats

Minitutorials
A minitutorial provides attendees with a valuable hands-on learning experience facilitated by experts, serving as an effective platform to introduce new projects and topics as well as to discuss areas of widespread interest that may not be as well suited for a traditional minisymposium. Minitutorials may consist of 1 or 2 parts, each of which runs the length of a minisymposium, with one (1) to three (3) speakers giving a tutorial on a current CSE topic. Minitutorial speakers may be eligible for partial travel expense reimbursement, subject to SIAM policy. Minitutorial proposals should be submitted using this form.

Deadline for submission of minitutorial proposals: June 29, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)

Minisymposia
A minisymposium generally consists of four 15-minute presentations, with an additional five (5) minutes for discussion after each presentation. To ensure balance, SIAM prefers a single individual not serve as an organizer or co-organizer of more than one minisymposium, however, organizers can submit up to two (2) parts per minisymposium, allowing up to eight (8) speakers. SIAM also discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers or co-authors come from the same institution.

SIAM also requests speakers submit only one oral presentation, either a minisymposium presentation or contributed lecture. Minisymposium session organizers and individual speakers are equally responsible for ensuring participants adhere to the one talk per person rule. Participation in a minitutorial does not count against the “one oral presentation” limit request.

The first speaker should provide an overview of the topic area. Each minisymposium speaker should submit an abstract no longer than 1,500 characters, including spaces. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in sessions.

Please visit the Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

SIAM requires minisymposium organizers propose sessions with either (3) or (4) speakers in each part by the minisymposium submission deadline. Sessions submitted with a majority of speakers listed as “TBD/TBA,” or using placeholders, risk immediate rejection.

Prospective minisymposium organizers must submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces), a list of speakers, and presentation titles using the Conference Management System (CMS).

Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals: July 27, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)
Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts: August 25, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)

Poster Minisymposia (Minisymposteria)
A minisymposium of posters (minisymposterium) consists of a collection of three or more posters by different presenters grouped around a central theme. The posters will be placed next to each other in a poster session.

Prospective minisymposterium organizers must submit the minisymposterium title, description (not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces), list of poster presenters and poster titles to the Conference Management System (CMS) under “Propose Minisymposterium.”

Deadline for submission of minisymposterium poster abstracts: August 25, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)

Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format
Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the themes. A lecture format is generally a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional five (5) minutes for discussion.

SIAM also requests speakers submit only one oral presentation, either a minisymposium presentation or contributed lecture.

A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a poster board. Poster boards are typically 4’ high x 8’ wide. A poster session is typically two hours long. Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces.

Before the poster session, a poster blitz session will be held where each presenter will briefly advertise their poster with a single slide.

A poster may be presented in addition to a talk, provided the talk and the poster are on different topics. An individual is limited to one poster submission as presenter.

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format must be submitted using the Conference Management System (CMS).

Deadline for submission of contributed abstracts: August 25, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)
