General Information

  • How to Participate

The organizing committee invites minisymposia and/or miniposteria submissions as well as contributed talks and posters. SIAM requests individuals limit themselves to a single presentation (talk or poster).

SIAM requests individuals limit themselves to a single presentation. The Organizing Committee Co-Chairs may make exceptions for invited plenary speakers, and others may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All presentations will be in person, and all presenters must be registered. Remote and pre-recorded presentations are not permitted; all presenters are expected to register and attend.

One talk or poster presentation is allowed per person. All submissions are subject to review and final approval by the co-chairs.

Submit a presentation in one of the formats listed below.

  • Acceptance Notification

Authors will be notified by email in early January 2027.

  • Speaker Cancellation

Every presenting author is expected to register and attend the conference.  A “no-show” or cancelled presentation causes a serious inconvenience to attendees and organizers and may be removed from the program materials after the conference.

If it becomes necessary for a speaker to cancel a presentation, they should try to find an alternate presenter immediately, preferably a co-author. See SIAM Policy on Substitute Speakers and Remote Presentations. Contact SIAM immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.

Submission Formats

Minisymposia

A minisymposium generally consists of four 25-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation. Ideally, the first speaker should provide an overview of the topic area. To ensure balance, SIAM prefers that a single individual not serve as an organizer or co-organizer of more than one minisymposium; however, organizers can submit up to two (2) parts per minisymposium, allowing up to eight (8) speakers. Organizers wanting more than 8 talks are encouraged to submit a Minisymposterium (2 or more posters) on the same topic which will be scheduled for the poster session on the same day as the minisymposium. Please use the same titles and organizers for both the minisymposium and Minisymposterium.

SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers come from the same institution.

A minisymposium comprised of multiple parts will be counted as a single minisymposium.

SIAM also requests participants submit only one presentation, either a minisymposium presentation, a contributed lecture, or a poster. Minisymposium session organizers and individuals are equally responsible for ensuring participants adhere to the one submission per person rule.

The first speaker should provide an overview of the topic area. Each minisymposium speaker should submit an abstract no longer than 1,500 characters, including spaces. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in sessions.

Please visit the Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

SIAM requires minisymposium organizers propose sessions with a minimum of three (3) confirmed speakers by the minisymposium submission deadline. Sessions submitted with a majority of speakers listed as “TBD/TBA,” or using placeholders, risk immediate rejection. The organizing committee will prioritize minisymposium with complete information, including four (4) confirmed speakers, titles, and abstracts by the November 23, 2026, submission deadline.

Prospective minisymposium organizers must submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description, not to exceed 1,500 characters including spaces, a list of speakers, and presentation titles using the Conference Management System (CMS).

Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals: October 26, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts: November 23, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Poster Minisymposia (Miniposteria) or Contributed Posters

Poster presentations are highly encouraged in all areas consistent with the conference themes. Posters may be submitted as part of an organized miniposteria, potentially attached to a minisymposium, or as an individual contributed poster. If you will be organizing a miniposteria and a minisymposium, please use the same titles and organizers for both the minisymposium and Minisymposterium.

A minisymposium of posters, Minisymposterium, consists of a collection of at least two (2) posters by different presenters grouped around a central theme. The posters will be placed next to each other in a poster session.

The conference will feature daily poster sessions during the extended afternoon coffee break. Presenters will be encouraged to set up posters before the morning coffee break to enhance visibility throughout the day. Minisymposia are encouraged to have a connected Minisymposterium that will run on the same day, keeping in mind presenters should choose between one talk or one poster.

A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a poster board. Poster boards are typically 4’ high x 8’ wide; presenters can use that space creatively.

SIAM requests participants submit only one presentation, either a minisymposium presentation, a contributed lecture, or a poster.

Prospective Minisymposterium organizers must submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description, not to exceed 1,500 characters including spaces, a list of poster presenters, and poster titles using the Conference Management System (CMS) under “Propose Minisymposterium.”

Contributed poster presenters must submit a title and a brief abstract, not to exceed 1,500 characters including spaces, using the Conference Management System (CMS).

Deadline for submission of Minisymposterium proposals: October 26, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Deadline for submission of Minisymposterium and contributed poster abstracts: November 23, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Contributed Presentations in Lecture Format

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the themes. A lecture format is generally a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional five (5) minutes for discussion. Talk lengths will be determined by the co-chairs at the close of submissions.

SIAM requests participants submit only one presentation, either a minisymposium presentation, a contributed lecture, or a poster.

Contributed presentations in lecture format must be submitted using the Conference Management System (CMS).

Deadline for submission of contributed lecture abstracts: November 23, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time
