Concentration of Measure and Isoperimetric Inequalities

Recent contributions of Talagrand to the area of isoperimetry and measure concentration have generated new techniques, important applications, and hence renewed interest in this topic. The scope of this minisymposium includes aspects of this development most pertinent to combinatorial applications. The speakers will describe techniques such as martingale methods, functional inequalities, tensorization, and applications to functions on random graphs, product graphs, and products of Markov kernels. The aim is to present new results and applications as part of a survey of recent developments, with particular emphasis on techniques.
