The SIAM Central States Section serves SIAM members in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
The purpose of this section is to enhance the communication among the section members, promote the collaboration for both basic research and applications of mathematics to industry and science, represent applied and computational mathematics in the entire central region, and support the SIAM mission in the central region of the United States. The section was formed in 2014.
Activities for the SIAM Central Section include annual section meetings, seminars, and workshops for advanced topics of common interests of the section members, encouraging new SIAM student chapters and facilitating all the SIAM student chapters in the central region to connect together, promoting collaboration in applied mathematics and its applications to industry and science, and expanding the influence of SIAM in the central states. Participation in SIAM Central States Section activities are open to all institutions and industries in the region with an interest in applied and computational mathematics.
SIAM Sections are regional or national subgroups of SIAM members that organize lectures, meetings, and other activities to serve members in their region. Get connected with members in your area.
